Abstract

Praise be to Allah, and may blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and upon his family and companions, the stars of guidance, and may Allah be pleased with them all. Now then: This research, which is entitled: “The Phenomenon of Shiism in the Lamu Region: Its Causes, Effects, and Remedies,” consists of four chapters and a conclusion.

Introducation: the researcher entitled it “Introduction.” In it, I talked about proving the message of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and that it is true. I explained that he, peace and blessings be upon him, was not the first of the messengers, but rather he was from a series of messengers and was the last of them. Every prophet was sent to his people in particular, but Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, was sent to all people. The Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, did not conceal anything from his Lord’s message, but rather conveyed it as his Lord, the Almighty, commanded him. I mentioned the reasons for choosing this topic, the importance of the research, its objectives, and its limits. I also mentioned my methodology in writing the research, and then I concluded it by mentioning previous studies.

Chapter One,  I made the discussion about the phenomenon of Shiism in Lamu and its types. I began by talking about the statement of the Lamu region geographically, spatially, socially, politically, economically and educationally. I also did not forget to mention something about the beliefs of the people of Lamu and the relationship between Shiism and Sufism there.

Finally, I discussed the Shiite methods used to spread their Shiite doctrine, such as schools and a list of the most prominent Shiite scholars in the region. I then mentioned their annual celebrations and concluded the chapter by mentioning some of the competitions held.

Chapter two, I titled it "Causes of Shiism in the Lamu Region." It discussed the political, social, and economic reasons, all of which are hypothetical reasons for society's shift from one creed to another, from one faith to another. The chapter focused on the fundamental aspects that directly address the cultures and customs of the region's people.

Chapter three,  I titled it: ‘The Effects of Shiism in the Lamu Region and Its Remedies’. I discussed the effects of Shiism in the region, dividing it into two parts: one for religious effects and one for political effects. I then also discussed the solutions to the spread of Shiism from the region, and I tried to provide a treatment for it through religious texts and disseminating religious knowledge to society. Finally, I talked about providing economic assistance to society as a basic cure for the phenomenon.
