Abstract

Al-Bannani's marginal notes (ḥāshiyah) on al-Maḥallī's commentary on Jamaʿ al-Jawāmaʿ is considered among the most distinguished works authored by later scholars in the field of Usul al-Fiqh (principles of Islamic jurisprudence). This study aims to examine this ḥāshiyah by introducing its author and exploring his methodological approach, identifying its strengths and the critiques directed at it through selected examples, as well as by analyzing scholarly evaluations of the work, using descriptive and analytical methods
