Abstract

This study examines the objectives of Islamic Sharia in planting and agriculture and their impact on achieving sustainable development, through the review and analysis of Sharia texts in light of contemporary concepts of development. The study aims to highlight the balanced Islamic vision that integrates the cultivation of the earth with the preservation of resources, and to demonstrate how the objectives of Sharia contribute to safeguarding the five essentials (al-daruriyyat al-khams) and to the development and prosperity of the land. The study relies on an inductive, analytical, and comparative methodology to derive Sharia objectives and apply them to developmental realities.
