Compendiums of the Prophetic Words An Analytical and Fundamental Study

Abstract

Research objectives: The research objectives can be summarized in mentioning the scholars’ statements in explaining the meaning of comprehensive speech, discussing those who limited themselves to brevity only, discussing those who limited themselves to comprehensive speech in the Holy Quran only, and stating that comprehensive speech was not mentioned in the Prophetic hadith, or that it is rare in it.

Research Methodology: In this research, I followed the analytical-critical method, relying on a near-complete induction of the statements of the hadith scholars, and reviewing the statements of other scholars of interpretation and language, and discussing their statements with complete objectivity, and with transmitted and rational evidence, with logical preference, and without arbitrariness.

Research results: The research results can be summarized in answering the first research, which is that the meaning of the useful words that serve in the prophetic hadith is brief speech with convincing meanings, and brevity does not mean that the hadith is composed of two or three words as the psychological state comes to mind, or it is the problem of the typical image that follows it partially. The answer to the second problem is to clarify that the Prophetic hadith is undoubtedly one of the most comprehensive statements, in fact, all of it is comprehensive in terms of permissibility and occurrence. The difference lies in whether each hadith contains one or more aspects.

Authenticity: Its authenticity is evident, according to what the researcher sees, in that it showed the aspects that he saw as being comprehensive words, and that brevity is one aspect, not the only aspect, even though this aspect is the most apparent and famous, but limiting the comprehensive words to it is not accurate.
