Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of teaching methods and their significance in the educational process, with a focus on the general principles that underpin them and the reasons behind their diversity. The researcher adopted a deductive approach through an extensive review of educational literature and relevant sources, analyzing both traditional and modern methods such as lecturing, discussion, discovery, and problem-solving. The findings indicate that the choice of an appropriate teaching method is strongly linked to educational objectives, curriculum content, and learners’ characteristics. The diversity of teaching methods is considered a pedagogical necessity to ensure learners’ holistic development and to address individual differences. The study also highlights the importance of prior planning and the teacher’s role in fostering active learner participation. It recommends the continuous development of teaching methods to meet the demands of modern education and to strengthen the integration between theory and practice for improved quality of learning.
