The Role of Educational Games in Developing Certain Social Skills Among Kindergarten Children in the City of Derna from the Teachers’ Perspective

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the role of educational games in developing certain social skills among kindergarten children. The research problem was defined through the following questions.
1.What is the role of educational games in developing speaking skills among kindergarten children from the teachers’ perspective?
2.What is the role of educational games in developing social communication skills among kindergarten children from the teachers’ perspective?
3.What is the role of educational games in developing cooperation and group participation skills among kindergarten children from the teachers’ perspective?
4.Are there statistically significant differences in the teachers’ responses regarding the role of educational games in developing some social skills among kindergarten children according to years of experience?
To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive method was employed. The study population consisted of kindergarten teachers in Derna city, totaling (45) teachers. The results revealed the following:
1.The level of agreement among the sample regarding the speaking skill dimension was high, indicating that the role of educational games in developing this skill is considered high from the teachers’ perspective.
2.The level of agreement regarding the social communication skill dimension was also high, showing that educational games play a high role in developing this skill among kindergarten children.
3.The results showed a high level of agreement on the cooperation and group participation high, indicating that educational games contribute high to enhancing this skill.
4.There were no statistically significant differences in the teachers’ responses regarding the role of educational games in developing some social skills among kindergarten children according to the variable of years of experience.
